Rufus Edgar Poole

Rufus Poole, age 98, of Flower Mound, Texas, and former resident of Seagrove passed away Thursday, May 3, 2012, at his home in Flower Mound, TX. He was born May 22, 1913 in Seagrove to Ralph Edgar Poole and Ardelia Boone Poole. Rufus married Bonnie Freeman who preceded him in death on November 19, 1991. He attended Maple Springs Baptist Church, Antioch Baptist Church, Amity Hills Baptist Church and First Baptist Church of Flower Mound. Mr. Poole was an adult men's bible class Sunday school teacher, a deacon and was a church member for over 60 years. Mr. Poole is survived by his children; Bobby Poole, Janice Poole and Anthony Poole; six grandchildren and five great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one son, Kenneth Ray Poole, one grandson, Samuel Harris Poole and one sister, Rachel Trotter. The family will receive friends Saturday, May 12, 2012 from 9:00 - 11:00 AM at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Ave., Asheboro. Funeral services will follow at 11:00 am at Pugh Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be at Suggs Creek Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery in Ether.
