Ruby McQueen Wallace

Ruby McQueen Wallace, age 87, formerly of Troy, died Saturday, September 25, 2010 at Autumn Care of Biscoe. Mrs. Wallace was born January 20, 1923 in Montgomery County, NC the daughter of the late Theo and the late Ada S. McQueen. Mrs. Wallace was a lifelong resident of Troy and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Troy where she taught Sunday School. She was a homemaker, a wonderful cook, gardener and a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt. In addition to her parents, Ruby was preceded in death by her husband, Grady Wallace, one sister, Pauline Turner, two brothers, Van McQueen and Ivey McQueen all of Troy. She is survived by two sons: Larry Wallace and his wife, Fairlee of Norwood, NC and Terry Wallace and his wife, Kerry of Troy, NC; 5 grandchildren: Ben Wallace, Kim Rowland, Gina Jones, Patrick Wallace and Teresa Henry and 7 great grandchildren. The family will receive friends Tuesday, September 28, 2010 from 11:00AM - 11:45AM at First Baptist Church, 401 East Main Street, Troy, NC and other times at the home of her son: Terry Wallace, 421 Beaman Road, Troy, NC. The funeral service will follow Tuesday at 12:00 (noon) at First Baptist Church of Troy, with Dr. Phillips McRae officiating.
