Ruby Swaim Routh, age 77, of Greensboro died Monday, January 21, 2013 at Moses H. Cone Memorial Hospital, Greensboro.
Mrs. Routh was born July 1, 1935 the daughter of Samuel and Savannah Swaim. Ruby was a native of Randolph County and an administrative secretary with the Guilford County Schools for 33 years when she retired. She was the secretary and treasurer for Sophia Support Club, enjoyed gardening and sewing and was of Christian faith. In addition to her parents Ruby is preceded in death by her brothers: George, Bill, Julius "Pee Wee" Swaim and her sister Barbara Saladrigas.
She is survived by her husband: R.P. Routh of the home; daughter, Julie Brewer Van Hoy and her friend John Lankford of Liberty; grandchildren: Luke Michael Van Hoy and Samuel Pierce Van Hoy both of Union Grove, NC; sisters: Helen Lawhorn and Gladys McMasters both of Liberty and Linda Allred of Asheboro; brother: Sam Swaim of Asheboro.
The family will receive friends Tuesday, January 22, 2013 from 6:00-8:00 PM at Pugh Funeral Home, 600 South Main Street, Randleman, NC. The funeral will be held Wednesday, January 23, 2013 at 2:00 pm at Mt. Lebanon United Methodist Church, 119 W. River Drive, Randleman with Rev. Carol Hunter, Rev. Wayne Pugh and Rev. Terry Routh officiating. Burial will follow at Randolph Memorial Park, Asheboro.
