Ruby Kirkman Raines

Ruby Kirkman Raines, 83, lifelong resident of Randolph County, passed away Wednesday, the 26th of June, in the year of Our Lord 2013. Born to the late Gurney and Lillian Kirkman on March 22, 1930 in Ramseur, NC, Ruby was a gentle soul, kind and faithful. She married the late Haywood Raines and was blessed with two children. Ruby was a dedicated employee of the Energizer Battery Company until her retirement, and a faithful member of Central United Methodist Church. She completed her life`s journey peacefully and surrounded by her many loved ones. In addition to her children, Thomas Raines of Greensboro and Joan Nipper of Raleigh, she is survived by her son-in-law Billy Nipper; her grandchildren Katie Raines, Holly Davis, and Karl Isham; and her great-grandchildren Piper and Lawson Davis. The family will receive friends Friday, June 28, 2013, from 6-8 p.m. at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Ave., Asheboro. Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 29, 2013, at 11 a.m. at Central United Methodist Church with Dr. Terry Matthews officiating. Entombment will be at Randolph Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to Central United Methodist Church, Asheboro, NC, or a charity of the donor`s choice.
