Roy Merritt Fruitt

Roy Merritt Fruitt, age 78, of Franklinville died Tuesday, April 25, 2017 at Randolph Hospice House, Asheboro.

Mr. Fruitt was born March 22, 1939 the son of Homer Odell and Ollie Mae Small Fruitt.

Roy was a native of Randolph County and worked at Cone Mills of Greensboro prior to his employment and retirement from Lorillard Tobacco Company in Greensboro. In addition to his parents, Roy is preceded in death by his brother Harry Fruitt.

He is survived by his wife: Martha Staley Fruitt of the home; daughters: Deborah Lynn McNeill of Seagrove and Teresa Annette Robinson of Randleman; son: Charles Ray Fruitt of Climax; step sons, Scott Marion and John Marion both of Randleman; sister: Joyce Slaughter of Thomaston, GA; brother: Homer Ray Fruitt of Randleman; 9 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends Friday, April 28, 2017 from 9:00 - 10:30 am at Pugh Funeral Home, 600 South Main Street, Randleman, NC. A graveside will follow at 11:00 am at Randolph Memorial Park, 4538 US Hwy 220 Bus. North, Asheboro
