Roy Neil "Bubba" Dorsett

Roy Neil "Bubba" Dorsett, age 71, of Asheboro passed away on Monday, June 5, 2017 at Moses H. Cone Memorial Hospital. Mr. Dorsett was born in Biscoe, NC on September 20, 1945 to Hosey Lee and Florencie Spivey Dorsett. He was a member of Russell's Grove Baptist Church. Bubba was retired from Stout Trucking in Greensboro. In addition to his parents, Bubba was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Anne Massey Dorsett, daughter, Donna Carol Redding, son, Donald Eugene Owens, sisters, Elizabeth Britt and Frances Parker, and brothers, Carlos, Jim, and Clarence Dorsett. Bubba was an avid NASCAR fan and adored his grandchildren. He is survived by daughters, Danielle Cranford and husband Beauford of Asheboro, Deanna Brown and husband Rodney of Ramseur; 9 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; sister, Bernell Braswell and husband Terry of Troy; brothers, Harvey Dorsett of Candor and Alvin Dorsett and wife Shirleen of Asheboro. The family will receive friends on Thursday, June 8, 2017 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro. Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 9, 2017 at 4:00 p.m. at Russell's Grove Baptist Church, 5118 U.S. Hwy 220 Bus. South, Asheboro with Rev. Pete Lamb officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
