Roy Marion Clifton

Roy Marion Clifton, age 75, of 1118 Oakdale St., Asheboro died Tuesday, November 2, 2010 at Moses H. Cone Memorial Hospital, Greensboro. Funeral services will be held on Friday, November 5, 2010 at 2:00 PM at Faith Community Church, 4252 US Hwy 220 Business South, Asheboro with Pastor Wayne Eller and Rev. Albert Everidge officiating. Burial will be in Oaklawn Cemetery with military honors by the Randolph County Honor Guard. Mr. Clifton was a native of Surry County and was a U.S. Air Force veteran of the Korean Conflict. He was the former owner of the Sealtest Distributorship in Asheboro and was retired from Lowe's Foods. He was preceded in death by his wife, Jackie Coe Clifton. Roy loved his children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and Carolina Basketball. He is survived by his sons, Mark Clifton of Archdale, NC, Jeff Clifton and his wife Robin of Asheboro, NC; daughter, Sherry Samuelson and her special friend Glenn of Charlotte, NC; grandchildren, Ashley Farrington and her husband Matthew of Cornelius, NC, Laura Minton of Mt. Pleasant, SC, Caroline Clifton of New York, NY, Heather Haithcock and her husband Paul of Blueridge, VA, Aaron Clifton of Asheboro, NC, and Montgomery Clifton of Asheboro, NC; great grandchildren, Lydia Grace Farrington of Cornelius, NC, Spencer Farrington of Cornelius, NC, and William Michael Gay of Mt. Pleasant, SC; brothers, Robert Clifton and his wife Marlene of King, NC and Ray Clifton of Mt. Airy, NC. The family will receive friends on Thursday, November 4, 2010 from 7:00 - 9:00 PM at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro, NC and other times at his home.
