Rosemary Ann Schneider, 91, passed away peacefully on April 22, 2017with her family around her. She was born Eleanor Untener on October 28, 1925 in Manhattan, NY. She was adopted as an infant by James and Mary (Fay) Shea of Jersey City, NJ. She married Arthur Schneider of Bronx, NY on October 27, 1946. She was a member of the Secular Third Order of the Franciscans and prior to her illness was an active member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Asheboro, NC.
She was preceded in death by her parents and brother James, two infant daughters, Mary and Nancy, a grandson, Jeffrey Schneider and her beloved cousin and life long best friend, Sr. Bernadette Agnes Proudfoot.
She is survived by her loving husband of 70 years and her children: Art (Debbie) Schneider of Greenville, NC; Vince (Judy) Schneider of Garner, NC; Peter (Mary Ann) Schneider of Decatur, GA; Mark (Pam) Schneider of Liberty, NC; Bernadette Such (Tom) of the home; Terri Schneider of Raleigh, NC; Clare Gardinier (Phillip) of Chapel Hill, NC ; Gregory (Lisa) Schneider of Fuquay-Varina, NC; Marie Ludwick (Mike) of Wake Forest, NC.
She is survived by her grandchildren Kara Schneider; Emily Schneider; Katie Strawn ; Moira Ann , Paul, Evan and Jacob Schneider; Zjahni Smith; Heather Daniel; Stephanie Gilbertson; Brian, Tim, David & Gina Such; Nicole & Brittany Gardinier; Justin, Daniel, Benjamin & Olivia Schneider; Erin Gold and Jacob Ludwick; and three great grandchildren, Brooks & Presley Daniel; Lucy Gilbertson.
The family wishes to thank all the wonderful people at Hospice of Randolph County who have taken care of her during her long illness, especially her nurses and her CNA's.
There will be a rosary service on Wednesday, April 26 at 6:00pm, followed by visitation until 8pm at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Ave., Asheboro. The Mass for the Celebration of her life will be held on Thursday, April 27th at 11:30am at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Asheboro with Rev. Louis Canino OFM officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family please asks for donations to be made to Hospice of Randolph County or St. Francis Springs Prayer Center, 477 Grogan Rd, Stoneville, NC 27048.
