Rosemary Mason Hayworth, 76, died peacefully November 8 at Heartfields Assisted Living in Cary, NC. Prior to moving to Cary she was a resident of Asheboro, NC and spent most of her career as a Christian Educator and preschool teacher and director at her beloved First United Methodist Church. Rosemary positively influenced the lives of countless Randolph County children and youth by sharing Jesus' love. Her legacy is a lifetime of service to the Methodist Church.
Through her work at the church as well as outside of work Rosemary enjoyed entertaining her friends and family with good, clean mischief and fun just as her late father, Luke Mason, did before her. From preschool olympics and fun bunch to neighborhood antics, ice cream socials and the annual family "cousins" party, Rosemary lived to bring laughter to others. Her favorite partners in crime were her sister, the late Becky Rudisill, and a wonderful group of friends in Asheboro.
Rosemary was preceded in death by husband James A. Hayworth, sister Becky Rudisill, and brother-in-law Rudy. She leaves behind her daughter Amy Phillips, daughter Julie Hayworth-Perman and son-in-law Bob Perman, beloved grandchildren Michael, Luke and Kate Perman, brother L.L. Mason and sister-in-law Carolyn Mason, many special nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, cousins and many special friends. She also leaves her precious kitties Sugar and Daisy who were her companions and joy at Heartfields.
A celebration of Rosemary's life will take place at 1 p.m. on Saturday, November 12 at First United Methodist Church in Asheboro. The family requests that bright colors be worn to reflect Rosemary's love of children and fun. Visitation will follow in the church parlor.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that anyone so moved consider a donation to First United Methodist Church children's ministries and nursery program, or the First United Methodist Church Preschool.
Pugh Funeral Home in Asheboro is serving the Hayworth family.
