Rosa Cooke Rowell

Rosa Cooke Rowell, age 82, of 6111 West Friendly Ave., Greensboro died Saturday, March 14, 2009 at Wesley Long Community Hospital, Greensboro.Mrs. Rowell was born April 18, 1926 the daughter of Troy Enoch and Ella Lee Cooke. Mrs. Rowell was a native of Fairmont, SC and retired from Walker Shoe Company of Asheboro. She was a longtime member of West Asheboro Baptist Church. She was an avid fisherwoman and loved animals. She is survived by: daughter and her husband, Ann R. H. Leigh and Faron D. Leigh of Greensboro, NC; granddaughter and her husband, Keli Hooker-Putnam and Kevin Putnam of Greensboro, NC; 2 step grandchildren., niece, Rosalie A. Watts of Asheboro, NC; Niece and her husband, Linda A. and Darrell Potts of King, NC; Nephew and his wife, Richard and Janet Ammons of Lake View, SC; niece, Dianne Chosen of Tallahassee, FL; Nephew, Bobby Ammons of Asheboro, NC; Niece and her husband, Rebecca and Paul Land of Jacksonville, FL; Nephew, Charles "Bud" Cooke of Jacksonville, FL; sister-in-law, Jeanette G. Cooke of Jacksonville, FLThe family will receive friends Monday, March 16, 2009 from 7:00 - 9:00 PM at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro, NC and Tuesday, March 17, 2009 from 7:00 - 9:00 PM at Cook Funeral Home, Lakeview, SC.
