Ronnie Anderson Voncannon, age 29, of Seagrove died unexpectedly on Sunday, September 29, 2013 at Randolph Hospital.
Ronnie was a native of Randolph County, a 2002 graduate of Southwest Randolph High School and attended Randolph Community College taking classes for information systems. He was a cancer survivor, an avid Duke Basketball fan and loved the outdoors, fishing, reading and playing computer games. Ronnie was a very special young man who was special to all he met. He had a great personality and never complained. Ronnie was a small person but everyone "looked up to him". He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Margaret Voncannon, grandfather, Ronnie Anderson and step grandfather, Bill Leach, Sr.
He is survived by his parents, Glenn and Melissa Voncannon of the home; sisters, Cynthia Voncannon Garren and husband Michael of Asheboro, Christina Dawn Voncannon of the home; nieces, Madison and Abigail; nephew, Ryan; paternal grandfather, Ralph Voncannon and step grandmother Doris Voncannon of Asheboro; maternal grandmother, Carol Butler and step grandfather Don Butler of Asheboro; special friend, Ricky Collie of Seagrove; aunt, Andrea Sheron and husband Mike of Weaverville; uncles, David Voncannon and wife Patty of Seagrove, Paul Voncannon and wife Tawanna of Asheboro.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, October 2, 2013 from 6 - 8 PM at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro, other times at the home of Cynthia Garren, 5354 Old Hwy. 13, Asheboro. Funeral services will be held Thursday, October 3, 2013at 2:00 PM at Hopewell Friends Meeting, 2244 Hopewell Friends Road, Asheboro with Rev. Daniel Thames, Rev. Ralph Voncannon, and Rev. Howard Moffitt officiating. Burial will be in New Hope Memorial Gardens.
