Ronald (Ronnie) Gray Cashatt passed away on May 23, 2017 at the Wake Forrest Baptist Medical Center. He was surrounded by his children and close family members.

The family will receive friends Friday, May 26, 2017 from 6:00-9:00 PM at Pugh Funeral Home, Randleman. The funeral will be Saturday, May 27, 2017 at 2:00 PM at the New Salem United Methodist Church 623 New Salem Road, Randleman, NC with Rev. Bruce Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in the Providence Friends Meeting Cemetery, Randleman.

Ronnie was born, September 13, 1949 in Randolph County, North Carolina to John (Gray) Cashatt and Audrey Cashatt.

He grew up in Randleman and loved his home town. Ronnie joined the Army in 1969, served in Vietnam in 1970 and was honorably discharged in 1971. After his service, Ronnie returned to Randleman to be close to his family and friends. In 1978 he found his career working for the United States Postal Service, where he delivered mail throughout the Randleman community for over 30 years.

Upon retiring in 2008, Ronnie spent most of his time with his children, family and friends. He had a passion for animals and enjoyed caring for his dogs, and other adopted wildlife.

Ronnie will be remembered as a loving father, brother, uncle, and friend to all that knew him. His witty sense of humor brought joy and laughter to those around him, all the way up until his last days. He had a kind and gentle soul who put others before himself and was always there when you needed him.

Ronnie is survived by: his son Zachary Gray Cashatt and fiancé Ashley Simmons; and daughter Andrea Blake Cashatt and fiancé Dalton Fletcher; former wife and mother of their children: Mary Schoolfield Cashatt ; sister and her husband: Sherry Fonner, Bill Fonner ; brother: Gary Cashatt; step mother: Carolyn Cashatt; honorary sisters: Mary Byrd and Faye Lucas; step sister and her husband: Cynthia and Steve Denny; nieces and nephews: Matt Cashatt, Jessica Cashatt, David Hinshaw, Misty Hinshaw, Brian Ramm; and great nieces and nephews: Madison Cashatt, Gray Braica, and Carly Hinshaw.
