Roger Clarkston Hayes, age 75, of Asheboro died peacefully surrounded by his family on Sunday, March 8, 2015 at the Randolph Hospice House.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, March 12, 2015 at 2:00 pm at Franklinville United Methodist Church with Rev. J. Harold Hammond officiating. The Randolph County Honor Guard will be providing military honors for Mr Hayes. The family will receive friends following the service in the church fellowship hall.
Mr. Hayes was born in Franklinville on August 18, 1939 to James Clarkston and Mabel Cox Hayes. He was a member of the National Guard and retired from Burlington Industries after 33 years of service. Roger was a member of Franklinville United Methodist Church. In addition to his parents, Roger was preceded in death by his sister Jane.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Patsy Hayes; sons, Bruce Hayes and wife Sherry of Asheboro, Jeff Hayes and wife Becky of Ramseur, Roger Hayes, Jr. and wife Kimberley of Charlotte; grandchildren, Michelle Stokes, Kaleb Hayes, Allison Hayes, Sarah Holleman, Marissa Holleman, Zack Hayes, Hannah Hayes; and great grandchild, Reagan Stokes.
