Robert Joseph Wood, Jr.

Robert Joseph "Joey" Wood, Jr., age 64, of Asheboro passed away on Wednesday, May 22, 2019 at Randolph Health & Rehabilitation.

Mr. Wood was born in Asheboro on May 5, 1955. He was a 1974 graduate of Asheboro High School. Joey enjoyed wrestling and was on the wrestling team from middle school through high school. He was employed with Klaussner Furniture for 21 years. Joey was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Ruth Graves Wood and brothers, Daniel and Mark Wood. Joey was a loving father and devoted husband and grandfather. He loved God with all his heart. Joey loved drag racing and always liked working on cars.

He is survived by his wife, Debra Wood of the home; daughter, Ellen Randleman and husband Brandon of Thomasville and their children, Dillon Light, Bryson, Damien, and Lexus Leonard and Ryan and Destinyi Randleman; sons, Bobby Wood and wife Heather of Asheboro and their children, Corey and Kallie Wood, and Randy Wood of Asheboro and his son, Aiden Wood; sisters, Mary Skeen and husband Tim of Asheboro and Darlene Allred and husband Todd of Randleman and brother, Paul Wood of Asheboro.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, May 25, 2019 from 2:00-3:00 pm at Liberty Road Baptist Church, 2179 WOW Camp Rd., Randleman. A memorial service will follow at 3:00 p.m. with Dr. Bruce Dickerson officiating.
