Robert Leonard Staley, Sr.

Robert Leonard Staley, Sr., age 71, of Asheboro died Sunday, January 1, 2017 at South Georgia Medical Center, Valdosta. Robert was born January 15, 1945 the son of Leonard and Mary Miller Staley. Robert was a native of Hampton, VA and a 1963 graduate of Randleman High School. Robert loved golf! He played many rounds at the Asheboro City course and Asheboro Country Club. He was in the process of moving to Pinehurst, NC to enjoy even more golf. He also enjoyed his mountain home and East Carolina football games. He will be greatly missed. He is survived by one daughter and her husband: Lisa and William Nelson of Randleman, NC; son: Bobby Staley of Asheboro, NC; brother and his wife: Donald and Diana Staley of Pinehurst, NC; one sister: Denise Nance of Sophia, NC; granddaughter: Jennifer Robbins of Randleman, NC; grandson, Chris Robbins of Sophia, NC; grandson and his girlfriend: Robbie Staley and Brynn Rush of Asheboro, NC; grandson and his wife: Alex and Tayla Staley of Ramseur, NC; great grandchild: Brooklyn Staley and his friend and companion: Judith Kelley of Pinehurst, NC. The family will receive friends Wednesday, January 4, 2017 from 6 - 8 PM at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro, NC. The funeral will be Thursday, January 5, 2017 at 11:00 AM at Pugh Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Matt Gunter officiating. Burial will follow in Randolph Memorial Park, Asheboro.
