Bob Plimpton, 73, of Asheboro was called home to rejoin his dearly departed wife and his Lord and Savior on March 19, 2012 at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center.
Bob was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather and a member of the United Methodist Church of Cedar Falls. He was retired, after 20 years of service, from the Uni-lever Corporation (Lipton Tea) in New Jersey where he lived until he moved to North Carolina. He was preceded in death by his father John Henry Plimpton of Washington and his mother Marian Plimpton of Asheboro, a brother James Plimpton of Asheboro, a sister Gail Poland of New Jersey, and his beloved wife Joan Plimpton.
He is survived by his sons Robert Plimpton, Jr. and his wife Wanda of Alpha, NJ, John Plimpton and his wife Patty of Ramseur, NC, Joe Plimpton and his wife Raquel of Asheboro, NC, his daughter Terri Fisher of Asheboro, NC; his grandchildren Amy, Joy, Kristen, Robert III, Heather, Joseph, Jr.; his great granddaughter Hailey; and his brothers John Henry "Jack" Plimpton of Glen Gardner, NJ and Ronald Plimpton of Indian Trail, NC.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 26, 2012 at 2:00 pm at Cedar Falls United Methodist Church, 1119 Loflin Pond Rd., Asheboro with Rev. Terri Howard officiating.
In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial contributions be made to the General Fund of the Cedar Falls United Methodist Church, 1119 Loflin Pond Rd., Asheboro, NC 27203.
