Robert Joseph "Bob" O'Brien

Robert J. "Bob" O'Brien, Jr., age 76, of Asheboro died Monday, June 3, 2019 at Randolph Health, Asheboro.

Mr. O'Brien was born October 6, 1942 the son of Robert J. and Pauline Sims O'Brien.

Bob was a native of Joliet, IL, retired from Yellow Transportation and was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church. He was a graduate of High Point University, a Spanish interpreter in the local court system, and an animal lover, particularly his dogs. He was known and loved by many and will be greatly missed.

He is survived by his fiancée': Valeria Brown; and step grandchildren: Ashley Effle Cothran and Jaime Edward York both of Asheboro.

The family will receive friends Friday, June 7, 2019 from 6 - 8 PM at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro, NC. The funeral service will be Saturday at 9:30 AM at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 512 W. Wainman Av., Asheboro where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Father Philip Kollithanath. Burial will follow in Randolph Memorial Park, Asheboro.
