Robert Neal Blevins

Robert Neal Blevins, 86, of Asheboro died Saturday, April 18, 2015 at Randolph Hospice House, Asheboro. Mr. Blevins was born in Chilhowie, VA to the late S. E. and Della Pennington Blevins. He was preceded in death by son, Robert Jeffery Blevins; sister, Mabel Gobble; brothers, Alden, Ward, Otis, and Dallas Blevins and son-in-law, Jackie Scott. Mr. Blevins was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force having served during the Korean War. He was retired from Burlington Industries. Mr. Blevins was a member of the First Baptist Church, Asheboro, where he served as Sunday school teacher, deacon, committee member and volunteer. He served his community through participation in various organizations including; Jaycees, Kiwanis, Asheboro City School Board and Boy Scouts. He enjoyed many years with friends in the men's breakfast club debating politics and sports. Surviving are his wife of 62 years, Rayburn York Blevins; daughters, Beth Scott and Susie (Steve) Bracey; daughter-in-law, Anne Blevins Bergamini; son, Gary (Nancy) Blevins; grandchildren, Ryan, Robert (Katye), Matthew Blevins, Shelly (Chad) Cook, Stacy (Kevin) Ulrick, Michelle (Matt) Bailer and Christi Bracey; great grandchildren, McKenzie and Jackson Cook and Olivia Blevins. Mr. Blevins' family would like to express sincere gratitude to the staff and volunteers at Randolph Hospital and the staff at Randolph Hospice House for their professional and compassionate care. And, a heartfelt thanks to Carolyn Thomas for her special friendship. The family will receive friends Tuesday, April 21, 2015 from 6:00-8:00 PM at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro, NC. Funeral service will be Wednesday at 2:00 PM at First Baptist Church, 133 North Church Street, Asheboro with Dr. Scotty Carpenter officiating. Burial will be in Randolph Memorial Park, Asheboro with military honors provided by the Randolph County Honor Guard. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Randolph County, P.O.
