Robert Lee Nance, Jr., age 71, of Asheboro died Friday, August 16, 2013 at the Randolph Hospice House.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, August 18, 2013 from 3:00-4:00 PM at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro. Funeral services will follow on Sunday at 4:00 PM at the Pugh Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Clyde Allen officiating. Burial will be in the Guiding Light Baptist Church Cemetery in Robbins with military honors by the Randolph County Honor Guard.
Mr. Nance was a native of Randolph County and served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Vietnam War. He was retired, after 30 years of service, as a millwright with Union Carbide.
He is survived by his wife, Darnell Bullins Nance; mother, Virginia Fraley Nance of Asheboro; sons, Lee Kiser and his wife Michelle of Richmond, VA;and Bobby Nance; grandchildren, Ashley and MaKenzie Kiser both of Richmond, VA; brothers, Sidney Nance and his wife Renee of Woodbridge, VA, David Nance and his wife Cathy of Asheboro; and sister, Doris Phillips and her husband Jimmy of Ramseur.
