Robert Cox Lewallen

 Robert "Bobby" Cox Lewallen Sr. passed this 18th day of June 2018.  Survived by his wife, Betty Davis Lewallen of 57 years, his son, Robert Cox Lewallen Jr. (wife Carol), daughters, Melanie Dawn Lewallen, Lola Goins (husband Perry), Betty Dale Smith (husband Mike), Christine Johnson (husband Darrell) and Lori Butler (husband Jesse).  His children blessed him with 10 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren and 11 great great grandchildren. 

He was a lifelong resident of Asheboro, North Carolina.  He was an Eagle Scout, graduated from Asheboro High, and went to college at Pfeiffer.  A veteran of the US Navy and a member of Randolph County Honor Guard.  Mr. Lewallen was retired from Moore Gardner as a draftsman and was a founding member of Ashe-Rand Rescue Squad.   

The family will receive friends Wednesday, June 20, 2018 from 6 - 8 PM at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro.  Funeral services will be held Thursday, June 21, 2018 at 11:00 AM in the Pugh Funeral Home Chapel with Tim Isley officiating. Burial with military honors by the Randolph County Honor Guard will be at Whites Memorial Baptist Church Cemetery, Franklinville.
