Robert "Bobby" Hubbard

Robert "Bobby" Hubbard, Jr, age 67, of Mt Gilead passed away peacefully Wednesday, December 10, 2014 at his home. Bobby was born September 30, 1947 at Troy, NC, the son of Robert Louis and Jean Lenore McKinnon Hubbard who precede him in death. He served in the Air Force in Vietnam as a Security Police K-9 handler. He graduated from Union Pines High School in 1966 and Sandhills Community College in 1968 and he attended Appalachian State University. He was an active member of the Vietnam Dog Handler Association who advocated rights for military working dogs as well as the VFW and American Legion. He is survived by his son Trey Hubbard and daughter Raven Hubbard and sister Dorothy Hubbard Rogers. He will be missed dearly by his friends and family. The family will receive friends Saturday, December 13, 2014 from 6-8 pm at Pugh-Troy Funeral Home, 211 North Main Street, Troy, NC. A service to celebrate his life will be Sunday at 3:00 pm at Pugh-Troy Funeral Home chapel. Inurnment with military honors provided by the Randolph County Honor Guard will be in Sharon Cemetery, Hwy 731E., Mt. Gilead.
