Robert "Bruce" Bruce Haywood

Robert "Bruce" Haywood, Sr., age 64, of Candor died Saturday, September 26, 2015 at his home. Bruce was born January 4, 1951 in Montgomery County. He was a member of Holly Mount Baptist Church and a retired employee of Jordan Lumber Company. He graduated with a GED in 1998 from Montgomery Community College. Bruce is preceded in death by his parents: Winford Reece Haywood, Lizzie Johnson Haywood Goforth and Glenn Kirby Goforth; a brother: James Winford Haywood, a son: Donald Ray Shaw, Jr., a brother-in-law: Glenn Parnell and nephew: Cameron Parnell. He is survived by his wife of 21 years: Barbara Parnell Haywood of the home; his children: "Robert" Bruce Haywood, Jr. of Liberty Hill, Genni Lynn (Glenn) Freeman of Liberty Hill and Dennis (Marsha) Shaw of Boonville, NC; his brothers and sisters: Nealie (Walter) Dixon of Minnesota, Brice Haywood of Mt. Gilead, Ray (Mary) Haywood of Candor, Milton (Paulette) Haywood of Mt. Gilead, Faye (Tom) Baxley of Georgia, Swannie (Stanley) Chastain of Reidsville; brother-in-law: David (Honor) Parnell of Rock Hill, SC; sister-in-law: Judi(Tom) McCurry Shaw; nephew: Joe McCurry; numerous nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. A Celebration of Life service will be held at 6 pm Friday, October 2, at Pugh-Troy Funeral Home, 211 North Main Street, Troy. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
