Robert Jackson Branson

Robert Jackson Branson, age 70, of 4285 U.S. Highway 64 W, Asheboro died Saturday, January 26, 2008 at Moses H. Cone Memorial Hospital in Greensboro. Mr. Branson was a native of Randolph County and a member of West Bend United Methodist Church, where he was a member of the United Methodist Men. He was formerly employed with Certified Concrete in Asheboro and Crews Trucking in Greensboro and was retired from Voncannon Trucking. One of his many loves in life was being an avid outdoorsman, but most important was the love for his wife Daffie, his children, and especially his grandchildren, not excluding his extended family. He was preceded in death by his son, Randy Branson, his parents, Cecil and Lucy Branson, and a brother, Fred Branson. He is survived by his wife: Daffie Smith Branson of the home; Son and his wife: Robert and Angela Branson of Asheboro, NC; Daughter & her husband, Kristie And Ryan Scherer of Denton, NC; Daughter: Sandi Branson of Asheboro; Grandson and his wife, Andrew And Jamie; Grandsons: Braden and Deacon; Grandaughters, Megan, Lauren, and Kendra; Great Grandson, Kolby; Daughter In Law And Her Husband, Tammy Branson And Bobby Stevens of Randleman, NC; Sisters: Vonie Thomas of Sanford, NC and Carolyn Butts of Lillington, NC; and Brothers: Bill Branson of Siler City, NC and Cecil Branson of Reidsville, NC. The family will receive friends Monday, January 28, 2008 from 6 - 9 PM at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro, NC. The funeral will be held Tuesday at 2:00 PM at West Bend United Methodist Church, 1080 Albemarle Road, Asheboro with Rev. David Cox and Dr. Steve Martin officiating.
