Richard Lewallen Luck

Richard Lewallen Luck, age 86, of Asheboro, passed away on January 7th, 2017. He was born in Ulah to Willis and Florrie (Lewallen) Luck and was the last surviving member of ten children, Beatrice Robbins, Syrona Wilson, Lloyd Luck, Clayton Luck, Willis D. Luck, Jr., Henry Luck, Curt Luck, Eugene Luck, and Stanton Lee Luck. He is survived by his wife Dorothy Luck, his two children, Carol Polak, husband Raymond, of Pittsboro, Mark Luck, wife Judy of Elon, four grand-children, Megan Davis, husband David, Lauren Lowe, husband Brian of Elon, Tyler Callicutt, wife Amelia of Greenville South Carolina, Jonathan Polak of Cary, and four great-grandchildren. A retiree of the Eveready Battery Company, he will be remembered as a man who graciously served his church and his community with his special musical talents. He loved gardening and sharing his bounty with neighbors and friends. One of his greatest joys was to spend time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. The family will greet friends at Pugh Funeral Home on Wednesday, January 11th from 12:30 to 1:30 PM with the funeral following in the chapel at 2:00 PM. Burial will be held at Hopewell Friends Meeting. Memorials may be made in Richard's name to Hospice of Randolph County, P.O. Box 9, Asheboro, NC 27204-0009.
