Richard Herschel Lawrence

Richard Herschel Lawrence, age 75, of Randleman died Friday, February 12, 2016 at Randolph Hospital, Asheboro. Richard was born August 1, 1940 the son of Herschel and Hazel Lawrence. He loved being outdoors. Fishing was one of his favorite activities and loved going to the beach and camping. In addition to his parents Richard is preceded in death by his wife Ruby Fay Rains Lawrence, brother, Kenneth Lawrence, brother-in-laws, Eugene Hutchings and Roscoe Wilds. He is survived by his children: Richard (Lori) Lawrence of Ga., Linda Dalton (Timothy) of Asheboro, NC, Robert Lawrence of PA, Ronald Lawrence of FL., Randall Lawrence of Tampa , FL., Charles "Chuck" Lawrence (Pam) of Pleasant Garden, NC, and Lee Lawrence (Andrea) of Randleman, NC ; 19 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; siblings: Margaret Hutchings of Dowagiac, MI., Beverly Wilds of Niles, MI., Kermit Lawrence (Lynda) of GA., Lois Renne (Edward) of Decatur, MI., Mable Becker (Frank Daisey) of Hartford, MI., Joyce Nash (Tom) of Edwardsburg, MI., Judy Vannek (Mike) Portage, MI., James Lawrence (Jackie) Dowagiac, MI., and Keith Lawrence (Shirley) of MI. The family will receive friends Saturday, February 20, 2016 from 12:30-1:45 PM at Pugh Funeral Home, 600 South Main Street, Randleman, NC. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 pm in the chapel with Pastor Wayne Parker officiating. Burial will follow at New Hope Memorial Gardens, Asheboro. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made at Randolph Cancer Center, Patient Assistance Fund,373 N. Fayetteville St., Asheboro, NC 27203. Pugh Funeral Home, Randleman is serving the Lawrence family.
