Richard Timothy Grier

Richard Timothy "Rick" Grier, age 57, of 1739 Ken Lee Court, Asheboro died Wednesday, June 1, 2011 at Carolina House of Asheboro. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 4, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at the Sunset Avenue Church of God, 900 Sunset Ave., Asheboro with Pastor Boyd Byerly officiating. Burial will be held on Saturday at 3:00 p.m. at the Garden of Devotion in Johnsonville, SC. Mr. Grier was a native of Hemingway, SC and was a 1971 graduate of Hemingway High School. He was an Elder at St. Paul's Presbyterian Church in Hemingway, SC and was a member of Sunset Avenue Church of God in Asheboro, NC. He was formerly the Vice-President of Manufacturing for Asheboro Elastics. He is survived by his wife, Brenda Cox Grier; daughters, Geri Grier Legg and her husband James of Sumter, SC, Jennifer Miles Copeland and her husband Todd of Asheboro, NC; mother and step father, Genny and Bob Bennett of Hemingway, SC; grandchildren, Kymber Legg, Gage Copeland, and Macayla Copeland; sister, Brenda Grier of Columbia, SC; and brothers, Donald Grier of Hemingway, SC and Kelly Grier of Columbia, SC. The family will receive friends on Friday, June 3, 2011 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro, NC.
