Richard Arlin Cox

Richard Arlin Cox, 72, died February 14, 2010 at Grand Stand Regional Medical Center in Myrtle Beach, SC after a sudden illness. Mr. Cox was a native of Randolph County and retired from Lowe's Hardware of Asheboro. He was a member of Calvary United Methodist Church. He loved his family, friends; gardening, fishing and life itself. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Nancy Chisholm Cox; daughters, Shannon Cox Wise and husband Kevin of Florence, SC, Andrea Cox Underwood and husband Jeff of Asheboro; granddaughters, Amber Wise of Durham, Lindsey Wise of Columbia, SC; grandsons, Zackary Underwood and wife Ryan of Boone, Jacob Underwood and fiancée Leslie Sparks of Asheboro; sister, Margaret Jo Ely of Randleman; brothers, Robert Cox and wife Phyllis of Randleman, Jimmy Cox of Escondido, California; sisters-in-law, Gerri Cranford of Asheboro, Bernell Hanford of Charlotte, Edna Johnson of Franklinville; brothers-in-law, D.L. Chisholm Jr. and wife Nancy of Asheboro, Charles Chisholm and wife Florence of Asheboro; many nieces and nephews. The family will receive visitors on Wednesday, February 17, 2010 from 6 to 8:00 pm at Pugh Funeral Home in Asheboro. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, February 18, 2010 at Calvary United Methodist Church with G. Lee Pollock and Rev. David Spaulding officiating. Burial will follow at Randolph Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Calvary United Methodist Church -114 Frances Drive, Asheboro NC 27203.
