Richard James "Dick" Clemens, age 88, of Asheboro passed away on October 11, 2017 at his home.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, October 15, 2017 from 2:00-3:00 pm at Flag Springs United Methodist Church, 5852 Zoo Parkway, Asheboro. Funeral services will follow at 3:00 pm on Sunday at Flag Springs United Methodist Church with the Rev. Carol Hunter officiating. Burial will be held in the church cemetery with military honors by the Randolph County Honor Guard.
A native of Cleveland, Ohio, Richard was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean Era. He was formerly employed with Brunswick Rubber Company in New Jersey prior to moving to Asheboro. He was then employed with Harrelson Rubber Company as their Chief Chemist.
Dick and his wife Norma were members of Flag Springs United Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 61 years and their son Richard Alan Clemens.
He is survived by his daughter, Deborah Clemens Zucchino and husband Dennis of Warwick, NY; and granddaughters, Kerri Hunt of Davidson, NC and Rebecca Governale of Poulsbo, WA.
