Richard Dewey Brower

Richard Dewey Brower, age 82, of Asheboro died Monday, May 14, 2012 at Moses H. Cone Memorial Hospital in Greensboro. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 16, 2012 at 2:00 pm at the Pugh Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Boyd Byerly officiating. Burial will follow in the Union Grove Baptist Church Cemetery in Seagrove. Mr. Brower was born in Randolph County, NC on March 28, 1930 to George Dewey and Rossie Ann Hussey Brower, who preceded him in death. He was a retired truck driver with Georgia-Pacific, a farmer, and an avid race fan. He attended Sunset Avenue Church of God. Richard was a loving and caring father and grandfather. He loved going to the beach with family, was a practical joker, and enjoyed teasing his grandchildren. He is survived by his wife, Barbara Ann Carter Brower, daughters, Joyce Nekervis and her husband Steve of Seagrove, NC, Janet Lare and her husband Harry of Seagrove, NC, Theresa Cline and her husband Johnny of Seagrove, NC; sons, Dwight Brower of Asheboro, NC, Dale Brower of Asheboro, NC; 15 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; and 1 great great grandchild; sister, Hazel York of Ramseur, NC; and brother, Edwin Brower of Seagrove, NC. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, May 15, 2012 from 6:00-9:00 pm at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro, NC. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O.
