Rhonda Jean Lewallen

Rhonda Jean Lewallen, age 57, of Asheboro passed away on Thursday, August 10, 2017 at her home. Ms. Lewallen was born in Randolph County on January 5, 1960 to Larry and Norma Hamilton Lewallen. She attended Guy B. Teachey Elementary School and South Asheboro Middle School and was a 1978 graduate of Asheboro High School. Rhonda received her LPN degree from Montgomery College and her RN degree from Randolph Community College. She was formerly employed as a nurse at several nursing homes in the community. Rhonda was a member of West Bend United Methodist Church. In addition to her parents, Rhonda was preceded in death by her grandparents, John and Gertha Lewallen and Ila and Earl Hamilton. She is survived by her brothers, Terry Lewallen and wife Betty and Larry Lewallen, Jr. and wife Susan all of Asheboro; nieces, Terra Lewallen and Tamara Lewallen both of Asheboro; and her canine companion, Lilly Gert. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, August 16, 2017 from 1:00-2:00 pm at West Bend United Methodist Church, 1080 Albemarle Road, Asheboro, NC. Funeral services will follow on Wednesday at 2:00 pm at West Bend United Methodist Church with Rev. Kari L. Howard officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
