Revauda Nelson Parks

Revauda Nelson Parks, age 97, of 1994 NC Hwy 134N, Troy died Friday, October 15, 2010 at Randolph Hospital, Asheboro. Mrs. Parks was born March 15, 1913 in Montgomery County, NC, the daughter of Robert and Bessie Wicker Nelson. She was a former employee of Capel Rug Mill. She was preceded in death by her husband, Barna Alton Parks and son, Albert Lee Parks. She is survived by her children: Irene Davis of Troy, Jerry Parks of Mt. Gilead, Betty Holleman of Asheboro, Sarah Hulin of Troy, Jean West of Troy, Joyce Abernathy of Garner and Larry Parks of Troy; 13 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild; two brothers: Malcolm Nelson of Hickory, Boyce Nelson of Alexandria, VA. The family will receive friends Sunday from 6-8 pm at Pugh-Troy Funeral Home, 211 North Main Street, Troy, NC. The funeral will be Monday at 2:00 pm at Grace Memorial Baptist Church, Hwy. 134, Troy with Rev. Arlen Johnson officiating. Burial will be in Suggs Creek Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery, Star.
