Rev. Norman Lee Livengood, age 80, formerly of Asheboro, NC, went to be with his Lord on Saturday, May 9, 2015 in Bonita Springs, FL.
Rev. Livengood was born in Greensboro, NC on February 23, 1935 to Hegga Hiram and Ressie Andrews Livengood. He was a graduate of Gardner-Webb College and was a member of the NC National Guard. Rev. Livengood was the former pastor of Glenola Baptist Church, Oakwood Park Baptist Church, Central Baptist Chapel in Greensboro, and Southside Baptist Church in Greensboro. In addition, he also pastored churches mostly in Southern Guilford and Randolph Counties. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter Linda Kaye Livengood. Rev. Livengood enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, youth group beach trips, playing guitar, and singing. He was a fan of all sports.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Maxine Reeves Livengood, daughters, Anita L. Hawkins of Staley, NC, Lynette L. Grout of Bonita Springs, FL; one son, Norman Lee Livengood, Jr. of Asheboro, NC; grandchildren, Elisa Livengood, Heather Livengood, Steven Livengood, Joshua Wilcoxson, Natalie Hawkins, and Wilson Hawkins; and brother, Jerry Livengood (Sally) of Greensboro, NC.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, May 13, 2015 from 10:30 AM-11:45 AM at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro, NC. Funeral services will follow on Wednesday at 12:00 noon at the Pugh Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Richard Crider officiating. Burial will be in Lakeview Memorial Park in Greensboro, NC.
