Rev. Lacy Hayes Parks, Jr., age 88, of Asheboro passed away on Wednesday, March 8, 2017 at his home.
Rev. Parks was born in Randolph County on June 3, 1928 to Lacy and Nina Loflin Parks. He served his country in the U.S. Army and was retired from Jimmy Ward Hardwood in Seagrove. Rev. Parks was involved in the Randolph County Jail Ministry for 40 years and was a member of Trinity Holiness Church. He was a traveling evangelist at many churches the surrounding area and had written for the Pilgrim Tract Society of Randleman.
He is survived by his wife, Betty Rose Parks; daughter, Vicki Darlene Parks of Asheboro; son, Tim Parks of Denton; grandchildren, Misty Parks and fiancé Marcos of Asheboro, Nina Day and husband Stephen of Winston-Salem, Miriam Chitty and husband Ben of Thomasville, Hannah Freeman of Asheboro, Anna Freeman of Asheboro, Davey Parks of Houston, TX, Ashley Parks of Asheboro, Andrew Maness of Biscoe; great grandchildren, Elliott Michael Day of Winston-Salem, Abigail Sean of Asheboro, and Nikolas Sean of Asheboro.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, March 16, 2016 from 1:00 – 2:00 pm at Trinity Holiness Church, 4997 Plainfield Rd., Sophia. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 pm with Pastor Tim Cole and Rev. Earl Newton officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
