Rev. James Albert Womble, age 80, of 619 White Oak St., Asheboro died Tuesday, October 30, 2007 at his home. Rev. Womble was a native of Chatham County and was a U.S. Army veteran of WWII. He formerly pastored at Taylor's Grove Baptist Church in Denton and at various churches in Randolph and Moore Counties. He is survived by his wife, Ola Jones Womble; daughter, Judy Womble Staley of Parnell, MO; son, James Ray "Bud" Womble of Myrtle Beach, SC; 5 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; sister, Jean Barnes of Atlanta, GA. The family will receive friends Thursday, November 1, 2007 from 6:00-8:00 PM at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro, NC and other times at his home. Funeral services will be held on Friday, November 2, 2007 at 2:00 PM at the Pugh Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. John S. Rogers officiating. Burial will be in Randolph Memorial Park, Asheboro.
