Rev. Don Ashley

Rev. James Donald "Don" Ashley, age 70, of Randleman died Thursday, November 20, 2014 at the Randolph Hospice House. Funeral services will be held on Monday, November 24, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at Liberty Road Baptist Church, 2179 WOW Rd., Randleman with Rev. Don Collins and Rev. Wesley Price officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. A celebration of life gathering will follow the interment in the Family Life Center at the church. Rev. Ashley was born in Anniston, Alabama on December 10, 1943 to Raymond and Loandel Currly Ashley. He was the minister and founder of Liberty Road Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, Don was preceded in death by his wife Kathren Payne Ashley. Don was active with "Jim's Kids" and other committees. He loved going on cruises and his old cars. He is survived by his daughters, Jacqueline Willis and husband Harvey of Seagrove, Bridget Harris and husband Kevin of Asheboro; son, Don Ashley, Jr. and wife Amy of Asheboro; grandchildren, Willie Spencer and wife Amy, Michael Spencer and wife Amanda, Franklin Willis and wife Brandy, Tiffany Blackburn, and Zachary Harris; 6 great grandchildren; sister, Sandra Jane Stacks and husband George of Jacksonville, FL; and brother, Grady Lewis and wife Cindy of Jacksonville, FL. The family will receive friends on Sunday, November 23, 2014 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro, NC.
