Rebecca Jones Watson, age 80, of Asheboro passed away on Thursday, August 31, 2017 at Woodland Hill Care & Rehabilitation in Asheboro.
Mrs. Watson was born in Randolph County on May 19, 1937 to A.V. and Pearl Martindale Jones. She was a 1955 graduate of Franklinville High School and was retired from Acme-McCrary Corporation. Rebecca was a member of Franklinville United Methodist Church for 67 years, where she was a member of the United Methodist Women. In addition to her parents, Rebecca was preceded in death by her brothers, Lawrence V. Jones and Evelon H. Jones, and sisters, Doris J. Smith and Sarah Frances Macon.
She is survived by her husband, Robert "Bob" Watson; son, Craig Watson and wife Kristi of Greensboro; daughter, Kim Matthews and husband Kip of Athens, GA; and grandchildren, Patrick Matthews, Schuyler Matthews, and Lucas Watson.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, September 2, 2017 from 5:00-7:00 pm at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, September 3, 2017 at 3:00 pm at Franklinville United Methodist Church, 227 W. Main St., Franklinville with Rev. David Christy and Rev. Chris West officiating. Burial will be in Randolph Memorial Park.
