Rebecca Cox Pickett

Rebecca Cox Pickett, 89, died peacefully on Tuesday June 18, 2013. She was born in Coleridge, NC to Owen and Blanche Cox. Rebecca was preceded in death by her brother, James E. Cox and sister Ruby C. Garner. She is survived by Johnnie Pickett, her loving and dedicated husband of 66 years; daughter Nellie and husband Randy Breedlove of Waxhaw, NC, grandsons and great grandchildren, Todd and Susan Breedlove, Sidney, Madison and Davis of Unionville, NC; Kevin and Cheryl Breedlove, Abigail, John, Sara, Joshua, Caleb, Gideon, Lydia, Peter and Eli of Austin, Arkansas; daughter Martha and husband Dr. Edgell Pyles of Snowmass, CO; grandson and great granddaughters, Tom and wife Linda Pyles, Carly, Katie, and Cassie of Denver, CO; grandson, Todd and wife Cindy Pyles of Richmond, VA; granddaughter Kathy and husband Mark Herrell, great grandchildren Emily, Trey, Lillian Rebecca, and Ryan of Richmond, VA. Rebecca was a member of Asheboro Friends Meeting and served faithfully for many years. She retired from Bossong Hosiery Mill, cherished her family, loved her home, and enjoyed gardening and cooking. A very grateful thanks to a special friend and neighbor Mary Efird. The family is grateful for the wonderful care given to Rebecca at Carillon Assisted Living of Asheboro. The family will receive friends on Thursday, June 20, 2013 from 1:00-2:00 pm at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro, NC. Funeral services will follow on Thursday at 2:00 pm at the Pugh Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ben Hurley officiating. Burial will be in Oaklawn Cemetery.
