Raymond Miles Rarick

Raymond Miles Rarick, age 88, of 1132 Harvest Circle, Asheboro died Thursday, February 26, 2009 at Randolph Hospital, Asheboro. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, March 1, 2009 at 4:00 PM at the Pugh Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Marion Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Randolph Memorial Park with military honors by the Randolph County Honor Guard. Mr. Rarick was a native of Fleetwood, PA and a WWII Army Veteran where he received the Purple Heart. He worked with Dupont in Kinston, NC, as Plant Manager for Campus Sweater and Sportswear, with Sears of Asheboro in the tool department, and with Champagne Dye Company. He was a member of the American Legion Post 45, Firebird Car Club, Antique Car Club, and Zooland Car Club, all of Asheboro. He was a former member of the Rotary and Kiwanis Clubs of Kinston, NC. He enjoyed woodworking and had won the Senior Olympics for crafting a mantle clock. He is survived by his wife, Ethel Hoyer Rarick of the home; daughter, Cindi Rae Bolling of Randleman, NC; son, William Nelson Rarick of Franklinville, NC; 4 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. The family will receive friends on Sunday, March 1, 2009 from 2:30-4:00 PM at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro, NC. Memorials may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
