Ray Louis Trogdon, age 89, of Clover, SC died Wednesday, June 29, 2016 at Novant Health Matthews Medical Center in Matthews, NC.
Mr. Trogdon was born in Asheboro on March 13, 1927 to Joseph and Maise Louise Lassiter Trogdon. Ray served his country in the U.S. Navy during WWII. He was retired from Burlington Industries in Asheboro after 40 years of service. While living in Asheboro, Ray attended Balfour Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, Ray was preceded in death by his twin sister Rachel Lanier.
He is survived by his wife, Joyce Smith Trogdon; daughters, Janie Best and husband Martin of Matthews, NC, Karen Boger and husband Calvin of Clover, SC; grandchildren, Stephen Best and wife Brandy of Indian Trial, NC, Beth Haynes and husband Travis of Clover, SC, Emily Best of Stanley, NC; great grandchildren, Nicholas, Luke, and Olivia Best all of Indian Trail, NC; and brother, Joseph Paul Trogdon and wife Jean Carol Trogdon of Asheboro, NC.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, July 2, 2016 from 10:00-10:45 am at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro, NC. Funeral services will follow on Saturday at 11:00 am at the Pugh Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in Randolph Memorial Park with military honors by the Randolph County Honor Guard.
