Ray Wesley Talbert

Ray Wesley Talbert, age 67, of Troy died Tuesday, February 18, 2014 at Randolph Hospice House, Asheboro. Ray was born March 11, 1946 at Ellerbe, NC, the son of Walter Wesley and Bertha Goins Talbert. Ray was a shipping supervisor with fifteen years of service at Klaussner Furniture. He was a member of Family Worship Ministries and an avid golfer. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a brother, Billy Talbert. He is survived by his wife of 39 years; Joyce Vuncannon Talbert of the home; children: Michael Ray McPherson of Houston, TX, Michelle McPherson Owens of Raleigh, Marty Ray Talbert of Sanford, and Wesley Alan Talbert of Troy; 7 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild; two brothers: Robert Talbert of Albemarle, Larry Talbert of Charlotte; two sisters: Margie Speer and Georgia Lamb, both of Albemarle. The family will receive friends Thursday, February 20, 2014 from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm at Pugh-Troy Funeral Home, 211 North Main Street, Troy; other times at the home. Funeral services will be Friday at 2:00 pm at Family Worship Ministries, 401 Troy-Candor Road, Troy with Dr. Harold Pope officiating.
