Ray Hogan

Ray Hogan, age 84, of 413 South St., Seagrove died Monday, April 18, 2011 at Randolph Hospital. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, April 21, 2011 at 2:30 p.m. at Seagrove Christian Church with Dr. J. B. Gibson and Mr. Gene Bumgarner officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Mr. Hogan was a native of Randolph County and a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean Conflict. He was a member of Seagrove Christian Church and was a former salesman with Nationwide Insurance. Ray served on the Town of Seagrove Board of Commissioners from 1955-1957, was the Mayor of Seagrove from 1957-1962, and was the first Fire Chief for the Seagrove Fire Department from 1957-1963. He is survived by his sisters, Marie Hogan Malpass of Asheboro, NC, Phronie M. Hogan of Seagrove, NC and brother, Franklin Hogan of Ellicott City, MD. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, April 20, 2011 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro, NC. Memorials may be made to Seagrove Christian Church, P.O.
