Ray Calvin Earnhardt, age 62, of NC Hwy 49S, Denton, died Saturday, April 6, 2013 at his home.
Ray was born June 9, 1950 at Denton, NC, the son of Roy West and Katheleen Turner Earnhardt. He was a self-employed carpenter for over 40 years. Ray was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He loved playing his guitar and he will be missed by all who knew him.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a brother, Richard Wilson Earnhardt and half-brother, John Thomas Hurley.
Ray is survived by his wife: Joyce Ann Brock Earnhardt of the home; one son: Keith Ray Earnhardt and wife, Kimberly of New London; one step-son: Kevin Martin and wife, Mary of NC; four sisters: Alice Ruth Morris and husband, Don of New London, Ruby Jean Passmore and husband, Paul of New London, Rachel Ann Mabe and husband, Randy of Star, Willia Mae Ratliff and husband, Gary of Thomasville; two brothers: Roy Lee Earnhardt of New London, Robert Wesley Earnhardt of Salisbury; 3 grandchildren; 4 step-grandchildren; his faithful companions: Buddy and Kiddle Cat.
The family will receive friends Monday, April 8, 2013 from 12:30 pm - 1:45 pm at Pugh-Troy Funeral Home; other times at the home. Funeral services will follow at the funeral home at 2 pm with Rev. Derald Smith and Rev. Freddie Mortez officiating. Burial will be in Prospect Baptist Church Cemetery, 2889 River Road, Troy.
