Ray Davis

Farrell Ray Davis, age 69, of 5438 Bachelor Creek Road, Seagrove, formerly of Asheboro, died Tuesday, August 3, 2010 at UNC Hospitals, Chapel Hill. Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 7, 2010 at 2:00 pm at Cross Road Baptist Church with Rev. Bobby Marsh and Pastor Greg Arnold officiating. Burial will be in New Hope Memorial Gardens with military honors by the Randolph County Honor Guard. The family will receive friends Friday, August 6, 2010 from 6:00-8:00 pm at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro and following the interment at the Ulah Fire Department. Mr. Davis was a native of Randolph County and an Army veteran serving in Germany. He was a retired fireman with the City of Asheboro with 25 years of service and was owner of Ray Davis Roofing. Mr. Davis was a member of Faith Alliance Church where he served as a Deacon. He formerly sang with the gospel group Davis Brothers and Barbara for many years and was a present member of The Living Miracles group. He is survived by his wife, Joyce A. Davis; daughter and son-in-law, Debbie D. and Jimmy L. Maness of Asheboro; son, Terry R. Davis of Seagrove; grandchildren, Trevor and Kaylee Maness, Taylor and Kelsey Davis; brother, Rev. Clay Davis and his wife Barbara of Seagrove; sisters, Clara Jean Hoover and her husband Wiley of Seagrove, Lola Mae Owen and her husband Larry of Seagrove; sister-in-law, Lois Davis of Seagrove.
