Franklin "Ray" Cashatt, age 92, Randleman died Thursday, April 1, 2010 at Clapp's Nursing Center, Pleasant Garden.
Mr. Cashatt was a native of Randolph County and owner and operator of Cashatt Lumber Company. He served as a Lieutenant in the Merchant Marines in WWII. Mr. Cashatt was a member of First Baptist Church in Randleman and is preceded in death by his wife, Alene Cashatt.
He is survived by his son: Denny Cashatt of Mt. Pleasant, TX; daughters: Margaret Taylor of Detroit, MI, and Cathy Hunt of Franklinville, NC; 4 grandchildren, Tami Brim, Shannon Williams, Mandy Espinoza and Ralene Hunt; 2 great grandchildren; sister: Jane Price of Randleman, and brother: Gray Cashatt of Randleman, NC
The family will receive friends Sunday, April 4, 2010 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Pugh Funeral Home, 600 South Main Street, Randleman, NC and other times at the home of Cathy Hunt, 1130 Hawksview Rd., Franklinville or Tami Brim, 1192 Hawksview Rd., Franklinville.
The funeral will be held Monday, April 5, 2010 at 2:00 PM at First Baptist Church, 100 North Main Street, Randleman with Rev. Kenneth L. Reaves officiating. Burial will be at Randolph Memorial Park, Asheboro.
