Randall "Randy" Newton Smith

Randall Newton Smith, age 66, of Asheboro died Friday, October 2, 2015 at his home. Mr. Smith was born December 9, 1948 in Randolph County and was of Baptist Faith. Randy was a disabled Veteran of the US Army serving during the Vietnam Era. He loved the beach, listening to beach, country and rock & roll music, especially Elvis. He was a loving husband, father, brother, uncle and friend. Randy was preceded in death by his parents, Charles Newton Smith and Dorothy Allene Chrisco Smith. He is survived by his wife: Carolyn Trogdon Smith of the home, most cherished companion, "Peanut"; 6 grandchildren and 1 step grandchild; sister: Chris McCracken; brother: Harrison Smith; niece, Charlesanna (Johnathan) Smith Nephew, C.J. McCracken of Asheboro, NC; Stepson, Darren (Youlanda) Hunt ; special friends: Roger Goins and, Dennis Summey all of Asheboro. The family would like to express a special thanks to Randy's Hospice caregivers and the special caregivers that assisted him at home, Virginia Sands, Anita Fraysier, Charlesanna Smith and Harry Smith. The family will receive friends Thursday, October 8, 2015 from 1:00 - 2:00 pm, prior to the Celebration of Life service at 2:00 pm in the Pugh Funeral Home Chapel, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro, NC 27203.
