Charles Ralph Lyndon age 83 died peacefully after a long battle with cancer.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, July 21, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at the Pugh Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Kelly Toth officiating.
Ralph was a veteran and served in the Army during the occupancy of Germany in 1945. He was honorably discharged from the service and worked for Pilot Freight Carriers where he retired. He was an avid reader, enjoyed woodworking and loved to travel after retirement.
Ralph was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 57 years, Lou Jean Lyndon. The most important thing in his life was his family. He is survived by daughters Dyan Coury (Tom) of Wilmington, NC and Debby Harris of Greensboro, NC. , grandchildren Scott Coury (Cathy) of Raleigh, NC, Sean Coury (Charity) of Hampstead, NC, Shelly Harris of Greensboro, NC, Melissa Coury of Chapel Hill, NC, Emily Coury of Wilmington, NC and Nicholas Harris of Greensboro, NC, great grandchildren Mason and Madison Coury of Raleigh, NC, and Nya and Tye Coury of Hampstead, NC. He is also survived by his brother Richard Lyndon (Betty) and nieces and nephews Amy Allen (Eric), Shirley Ritch (Alvin), Mike Williams (Donna), and Ann York (Randy).
Ralph can be best remembered by his kind and gentle manner. He enriched the lives of his family, friends, and neighbors with his generosity and humble ways. He will be greatly missed.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, July 20, 2010 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Ave., Asheboro, NC.
