Rachel Luck Underwood

Rachel Luck Underwood, age 98, of Asheboro, passed away Sunday, August 16, 2015 at Randolph Hospice House in Asheboro with her family by her side. Rachel was born July 18, 1917 in Asheboro and was a lifelong member of Balfour Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School for many years. She was preceded in death by her husband of 71 years, H. Hanford Underwood, parents, Ellis and Myrtle Pritchard Luck, Brothers, Clarence and Clyde Luck, sisters, Lola Luck Sloat and Thelma Luck Barab, and daughter in law, Angeline Beane Underwood. She is survived by her son, Buddy and his wife, Jan Underwood; her daughter, Peggy Underwood McKenzie, all of Asheboro, Sisters In Law, Judy Lamb Luck and Johanna Underwood Miller, both of Asheboro; Grandsons, Lawrence and his wife, Patricia Underwood, Jeff and his wife, Andrea Underwood, and Dean and his wife, Donna Underwood, all of Asheboro; great grandchildren, Scott and his wife, Melissa Underwood, Steven and his wife, Carmen Underwood, Shane and his wife, Jamie Underwood, Zack and his wife, Ryan Underwood, Jacob and his wife, Leslie Underwood, and Amber Hussey; Great Great Grandchildren, Jackson, Michael, Colin, Grant, Vivian, Corrine, Roselyn, Rachel, Josiah, Kai, and Ayden. A graveside service will be held at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, August 19, 2015 at Randolph Memorial Park, 4538 US Hwy 220 Bus. North, Asheboro with Dwight Ayers officiating. The family will receive friends following the service. Our family would like to express our sincere gratitude to Hospice of Randolph for the love and kindness shown both at home and Hospice House.
