Rachel East Taylor

Rachel East Taylor, age 80, of Asheboro died Tuesday, April 30, 2013 at Kindred Hospital, Greensboro. Mrs. Taylor was a native of Surry County. She was previously employed with Acme-McCrary Corporation, Golden Corral and most recently, Noah's Ark Day Care. Mrs. Taylor was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Albert L. Taylor, sister, Linda Simpson and brothers, Edward and Don East. She is survived by her son, Eddie Dean Taylor of Asheboro; daughters, Judy Taylor Mendenhall and her husband Bill of Asheboro, Diane Taylor Akins and her husband Tony of Archdale; grandchildren, Michael Smith and his wife Rhonda of Maggie Valley, Michelle Smith of Thomasville, Kristi Dawkins and her husband John of Archdale, Benjamin Akins of Greensboro; great grandchildren, Corey, Brittany, Cayce, Killion, JulieAnne, Kylie Rose and KatieBeth; brother, R. J. East of Mt. Airy; sister, Shelby Tucker of Mt. Airy; several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends Thursday, May 2, 2013 from 6 to 8 PM at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro. Funeral services will be held Friday, May 3, 2013 at 2:00 PM at Pugh Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Buford Jessup officiating. Burial will be in Oaklawn Cemetery.
