Rachel Elizabeth Hill

Rachel Elizabeth "Betty" Grauer Hill, age 79, of 945 S. Church St., Apt. 117, Asheboro died Wednesday, January 30, 2008 at her home. Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 2, 2008 at 2:00 pm at Snelling Funeral Home Chapel, Chesapeake, VA with Rev. Robert D. Hill, Jr, Dr. Richard Crider and Rev. Vance Smith officiating. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, Chesapeake, VA. Mrs. Hill was a native of Philadelphia, PA, a 1946 graduate of Bartran High School and was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church, Philadelphia, PA. She later moved to Norfolk, VA where she was retired from Missions to Military and was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, serving as organist and in various other positions. She was a member of Oakhurst Baptist Church, Asheboro, NC. Mrs. Hill was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Dorset Hill. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Sharon and Jay Williams of Asheboro, NC; son and daughter-in-law, Rev. Robert D. and Virginia Hill, Jr. of Water Valley, MS; brother-in-law, Eddie Arnold of Philadelphia, PA; 12 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren. The family will receive friends Saturday, February 2, 2008 from 1:00-2:00 p.m. at Snelling Funeral Home Chapel, 1144 George Washington Hwy. N, Chesapeake, VA.
