Phyllis Walser Poole

Phyllis Walser Poole, age 76, of 1541 Pekin Rd., Troy died Wednesday, September 4, 2013 at her home. Phyllis was born March 28, 1937 at Faith, NC, the daughter of Farris Bryant and Clara Elizabeth McCombs Walser. She attended Laurel Hill Baptist Church. Phyllis was a former kindergarten/special education teacher at Troy Elementary School. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by a brother, Farris Bryant Walser, Jr. She is survived by her husband of fifty years: Lane Gilbert Poole, Sr. of the home; two sons: Lane Gilbert Poole, Jr. and wife, Maria Noemia Poole of Homestead, FL, David Miles Poole and wife, Kay C. Poole of Troy; grandson: David Keith Poole and wife, Meagan of China Grove; two brothers: David Walser of Laurel, MD, John Walser of Salisbury. The family will receive friends Friday, September 6, 2013 from 12:30 pm - 1:30 pm at Pugh-Troy Funeral Home, 211 North Main Street, Troy; other times at the home. A graveside service will be Friday at 2:00 pm at Southside Cemetery, S. Main St., Troy with Rev. Grady Blakely officiating.
